No. 38 Women's Tennis Drops Match to Arizona State

TEMPE, Ariz. – The 38thranked University of Utah women's tennis team was unable to record a victory earlier today, dropping their match against Arizona State University with a score of 0-4. With this loss, the Utes will now move to an overall record of 10-4 on the season. 
 
"An experienced, undertreated team taught us a lesson today," said head coach Mat Iandolo. "We will apply the lessons we learned for tomorrow's match." 
 
In doubles, the Utes were unable to record any victories, allowing the Sun Devils to take the early lead. At the No. 3 position, Emily Dush and Lindsay Hung fell short against #65 ranked Samantha Alicea and Sammi Hampton, with a score of 6-1. Then, to secure the doubles point on court No. 2, Leah Heimuli and Whitney Hekking were unable to record a win, dropping their match against Tereza Kolarova and Savannah Slaysman with a score of 6-3. 
 
In singles, the Utes were also unable to record any victories, losing matches on courts 5, 6, and 3, allowing the Sun Devils to take the 4-0 victory. The University of Utah women's tennis team will be back in action tomorrow afternoon, as they will take on the University of Arizona. The Utes' match against the Wildcats is set to be held in Tucson, Arizona, with competition starting at 1:00 p.m. MT.
