SALT LAKE CITY– Another big weekend for the Utah women's track and field team approaches as they will split up and compete at four different meets this Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 28-30. The Utes will compete at the Stanford Invitational, the Mark Fanelli Track Classic hosted by San Francisco State University, the Utah Valley University Collegiate Invitational and the Jim Bush Legends Invitational hosted by UCLA.Â

Utah will compete at the Stanford Invite throughout the weekend while competing at the Mark Fanelli Track Classic on Thursday and Friday, the UVU Collegiate Invite on Friday and the Jim Bush Legends Invite on Saturday.Â

Between the Stanford Invite and Mark Fanelli Track Classic, formally known as the SFSU Distance Carnival, the Utes will be sending a large group of distance runners that include:
Scarlet Dale,
Sarah Feeny,
Nicole Griffiths,
Trina Moreno,
Sophie Ryan,
Poppy Tank,
Cara Woolnough and many more. The Stanford Invite will be held at Cobb Track and Angell Field on the campus of Stanford while the Mark Fanelli Track Classic will be held at Chabot College in Hayward, Calif. The Stanford Invite is set to begin on Friday at 11:50 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. (PST) on Saturday.
Hannah Allred,
Jade Mulvey and
Natalie Platil will open up the weekend at the Mark Fanelli Track Classic on Thursday evening with Platil competing in the 3,000-meter steeplechase which is slated to start at 4:30 p.m. (PST). Allred and Mulvey will compete in the 10,000-meter race set to start at 6:55 p.m. (PST). Competition will begin on Friday at 10:45 a.m. (PST).

Kayla Rees and freshman
Lauren O'Banion will be the only competitors representing Utah at the UVU Collegiate Invite on Friday. The meet will be held at the Hal Wing Track and Field with competition set to begin at 11:45 a.m. (MST).Â

Competing at UCLA will be the sprints, hurdlers and field crew. Athletes include:

Regan Crofts. The Jim Bush Legends Invite will be held at the UCLA Drake Stadium and is slated to begin on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. (PST).Â

The Utes competed at the Aztec Invitational in San Diego, Calif., where freshman
Taylor Watson ran the second fastest time in school history in the 100-meter dash and senior transfer
Kolbi Sims took home first-place in the women's heptathlon. Watson finished the race in a time of 11.93 to secure a 10th place finish and move into second-place all-time at Utah.Â

Sims began the final day of the heptathlon in second place after competing in four events. The battle for first was close heading into the final event as Sims was just a few points back from the lead. Sims would go on to capture a second-place finish in the 800-meter race to secure first-place and total the fourth-best score in school history of 5,189 points.Â

Three more Utes earned new personal-bests over the weekend while sophomore
Regan Crofts earned a new personal-record and moved herself into fifth-place all-time at Utah in the javelin. Sophomore
Jackie Martin recorded a new personal-best in the 400-meter race and senior
Mesa Weidle set a new personal-record in the 800-meter event.Â
