NORMAN, Okla. – Jordan Costello was selected as a Golf All-America Scholar and the Utes earned Outstanding Team Academic honors by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Costello, who is also a two-time Pac-12 Golf All-Academic Team honoree, played in 11 events for the Utes last season, including the Pac-12 Championship. He tied for ninth at both the Showdown in the Rockies and the Bandon Dunes Championship for his best finishes of the season and finished in the top 25 four times during the year. Costello was selected as the 2018 Wyoming State Golf Association Men's Player of the Year.
Costello, who has qualified for the 2019 U.S. Amateur Championship, has a 73.5 scoring average over his three seasons at Utah.
To earn individual honors, student-athletes must be an upperclassman academically, have participated in 50-percent of his team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20. Teams must have a 3.0 GPA or above.
