THE GAME

 UTES ON THE ROAD
Utah is currently 246-253-12 (.492) all-time when playing on the road. Utah has only won one game in Los Angeles against the Trojans when the Utes won 27-12 in 1916, which was the second game in the all-time series against USC after beating them at home in 1915.

Utah is 34-39 against Pac-12 teams as a conference member and 110-157-6 all-time against Pac-12 schools.
 NUMBERS TALK
• With a win, the Utes will claim their first win at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum and their first win in Los Angeles against USC since 1916.
• With 100 rushing yards against USC, Zack Moss will move into a tie for first all-time in career 100-yard rushing games at Utah (14).Â
• With a win, Utah will have won its 35th game against a conference opponent since joining the Pac-12.Â
• Head coach Kyle Whittingham has coached in 309 games for Utah as an assistant and a head coach with 208 career victories.Â
• Utah is one of four teams in the FBS that have not allowed a sack.Â

• Utah ranks 10th in this week's AP poll, up one spot from last week and the highest ranked among the Pac-12's six teams in the poll (conference's most teams ranked in a week since 2015). It is Utah's highest AP rank since 2015 and is the earliest the team has achieved a top 10 ranking in program history (previous was Sept. 27, 2015).
• The last time Utah was ranked higher than No. 10 in the AP poll was Oct. 18, 2015.
• Utah has scored 30 or more points in the first three games for the first time since 2013. It is just the second time since 1994 when the Utes began the season 8-0 and scored 30 or more points in each of their first five games.
• Utah recorded its first shutout since 2016 against Idaho State (31-0), and their first while scoring 30 or more points since 2012. The win was Utah's sixth in a row at home.
• Utah has held all three of its opponents to under 100 yards rushing this season.
• Utah is one of six other teams to tie for most defensive touchdowns in the FBS (2). The Utah defense also ranks seventh in rushing defense (65.0 ypg), eighth in interceptions (4) and total defense (239.3) and 13th in first downs allowed (37).
• Utah ranks 12th in tackles for loss allowed (3.33/gm) and has only turned the ball over once. The Utes also rank second in the FBS in completion percentage (.787) and 10th in team passing efficiency (188.46).
• The Utes have sold out 59-straight games in Rice-Eccles Stadium since the 2010 season opener, including 55 standing room only crowds. The school record for season attendance average is 46,533 (2015) and Utah has averaged more than 46,000 fans per game in four of      the past five seasons.

• Players changing numbers since spring ball include Bronson Boyd (#8), Devin Brumfield (#6), Vonte Davis (#22), Nygel King (#16), Malone Mataele (#15) and Simi Moala (#69). Position changes include Jayden Clemons going from quarterback to defensive back and Falcon Kaumatule moving from defensive end to offensive line.
• Utah added three new staff members during the offseason with Andy Ludwig returning to the Utes as offensive coordinator after serving in the same role from 2005-08, including Utah's 2008 undefeated Sugar Bowl season. Former Utah player Sione Po'uha returns to coach the defensive tackles after serving in the same role at Navy last year while Colton Swan joined the Utes as linebackers coach from Weber State.
• Scholarships awarded to walk ons during the offseason include senior offensive lineman Kyle Lanterman, junior tight end Ali'I Niumatalolo, senior defensive end Malik Haynes and senior running back Mason Woodward.
• Javelin Guidry is one of the fastest players in NCAA football, clocking a season-best time of 6.59 seconds in the 2018-19 indoor track season and competing at the USATF Indoor Championships.
• The Utes have had three freshmen start on the offensive line this season in Braeden Daniels (LG vs. NIU, at BYU), Johnny Maea (RG at BYU) and Simi Moala (RT vs. NIU). In total, Utah has had 12 freshmen see action this year on offense, defense and on special teams (Donte Banton, JaTravis Broughton, Daniels, Ben Lennon, Aaron Lowe, Maea, Malone Mataele, Moala, Jadon Redding, Alphonso Taylor, Jordan Wilmore, Thomas Yassmin).

• Utah is tied for the NCAA lead with two defensive touchdowns, both interception returns against BYU.
