"Great finish for Addison in the slalom," head alpine coach
JJ Johnson said. "Rough day overall for the team, but sometimes that's just slalom. Gustav skied unbelievable and self-reported that he straddled a gate. He did the right thing, which was tough, but credit to him for his honesty and class about the situation. It's what our team is about. They have both been watching Joachim in the slalom, and it's great when you get to the point the student-athletes are coaching each other.
Katie Parker finished all three races, which was her plan, and she'll have a better start number for the next meets. Eirin, Sona and Katie V all skied smart. Roni was ripping her first run. Tomas was again solid and there were some tough combinations that got Fredrik at the bottom of the second run.
"We're excited and happy about our skiing, but I think everyone is ready for a break. We'll rest up and take some time for training and school."
The Nordic team has its first race of the season on Saturday, Jan. 18, with the freestyle races of the Colorado Invitational beginning at 9:00 a.m.
