SALT LAKE CITY – Former Ute gymnast Kim (Allan) Brunisholz has been named the president of the University of Utah Alumni Association and will begin her two-year term on July 1, 2020. As president of the Alumni Association, Brunisholz will also sit on the Board of Trustees of the University.
Brunisholz (formerly Allan) was a member of the Utah gymnastics team for the 2000-03 seasons. She earned second team All-American honors on beam her freshman season and helped guide the Red Rocks to an NCAA runner-up finish. After suffering an Achilles tear the following year, Brunisholz came back to make the lineup on every event at some point in her junior season. She was a consistent force on vault, bars and beam throughout her four-year career and was a part-time all-around competitor.
Committed to her work in the classroom, Brunisholz was a four-time NACGC Scholastic All-American during her undergrad career. She was also the president of the Utah Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Brunisholz, B.S. '05, M.S. '11, Ph.D. '15, has three degrees from the U, which includes a doctorate in public health.
She currently serves as a senior scientist and is a federally funded researcher with the Intermountain Healthcare Delivery Institute. Brunisholz has worked at Intermountain Healthcare since 2006. She is married to Briant Brunisholz and has a son, Ayson and daughter, Justyn.
