SALT LAKE CITY – University of Utah head men's basketball coach
Larry Krystkowiak announced the addition of Williston State transfer Jordan Kellier for the upcoming 2020-21 campaign Tuesday.
"We are very excited to have Jordan join our Ute family," said Krystkowiak. "He is a terrific young man that will give us a lot of versatility at the wing with a strong motor. He is a tireless worker who continues to improve each year. In addition, his tremendous character will fit in nicely with our team."
Kellier spent his freshman season with the Tetons and averaged 17.4 points and 8.6 rebounds to go with a .446 shooting clip. The 6-6 guard started in 19-of-21 games he played in last year for Williston State with five double-doubles and scored 20-plus points in 10 games.
He spent his prep career at Redemption Christian Academy in Troy, N.Y., under Tristan Wilchcombe.
Hailing from Portmore, Jamaica, Kellier will become the third active Jamaican-born player in NCAA Division 1 next season according to RealGM, joining Kofi Cockburn (Illinois) and Warren Williams (Manhattan).
Kellier joins fellow newcomers Ian Martinez (JSerra HS) and Pelle Larsson (Riksbasketgymnasiet Luleå) at the U for the upcoming 2020-21 season.
