SAN FRANCISCO –
Maile O'Keefe was named the Pac-12 Specialist of the Year for the second consecutive season, while O'Keefe was also one of four Red Rocks to earn All-Pac-12 Conference honors on at least one event.
Voted on by the conference's head coaches, O'Keefe picked up her third consecutive yearly honor after an outstanding 2023 regular season. She earned first team All-Pac-12 honors on bars and beam to lead the Utes. O'Keefe competed as an event specialist in seven of the 10 regular season competitions, which included appearances on bars and beam in every meet, and floor in six competitions.
With two Ute vaulters going down with injuries, O'Keefe began training vault late in the season and entered the all-around for the final three meets of the regular season. O'Keefe became Utah's all-time leader in career Perfect 10s on beam this season and matched her own school record for most 10s on beam in a single season after earning three perfect scores in 2023. She is the No. 1 gymnast in the country on beam with a 9.980 National Qualifying Score and has scored a 9.90 or better on beam in all but one routine.
O'Keefe has scored a 9.90 or better on bars in six of 11 competitions this season, ranking sixth in the Pac-12 with a 9.930 NQS. She also has posted a 9.90 or better on floor on five of her seven routines. She leads the team with 12 event victories this season and has hit 32-33 routines. O'Keefe is now an eight-time All-Pac-12 gymnast.
Joining O'Keefe on the All-Pac-12 first team for beam is
Kara Eaker and
Cristal Isa, while Isa also landed honorable mention honors on bars. Eaker's first conference selection comes after the sophomore scored a 9.90 or better on every beam routine this season, which included a Perfect 10 and three 9.975s. Isa, a nine-time All-Pac-12 gymnast, has earned honors on both bars and beam the past three seasons. The fifth year senior has posted a 9.90 or better on bars six of the past seven meets, and a 9.90 or better on beam seven of the last eight meets.
Rounding out the honors,
Jaedyn Rucker earned All-Pac-12 honors on vault for the third-straight season. Rucker, the reigning vault national champion, has earned back-to-back first team honors on vault and has a 9.915 NQS this season with four vault titles.
The All-Conference teams are determined by national qualifying scores, including the regular season, and the Pac-12 Championships. The All-Pac-12 First Team consists of the top six all-around performers, and top six performers in each individual event (including ties) based on national qualifying scores (through March 20). All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention consists of seventh and eighth-place performances in each individual event and the all-around (including ties) based on national qualifying scores. A gymnast is eligible for the Pac-12 Specialist of the Year if the gymnast does not have an NQS in the all-around.
