The University of Utah Football team is headed out on its fourth road trip of the season, taking on the Houston Cougars on Saturday, Oct. 26. The game is set for a 5 p.m. MT kick on ESPN+.

NEW CONFERENCE, SAME TRADITION
Utah Football began a new era in 2024, joining the Big 12 Conference. The Utes have also been a part of the Rocky Mountain Conference (1910-1937), the Big Seven (1938-1947), the Skyline (1948-1961), the Western Athletic Conference (1962-1998), the Mountain West (1999-2010) and the Pac-12 (2011-2023).
- Utah is 446-263-19 all-time in conference games (.626), including its first win in the Big 12 against Oklahoma State (Sept. 21, 2024, W, 22-19).
- Utah is 32-13 in conference games since 2019.
- The Utes bring 28 conference championships with them to the Big 12.
- The Utes have won a conference championship in their first year in a new conference three times (1938, 1st in Big Seven; 1948, 1st in Skyline; 1999, tied for 1st in Mountain West).
THE NUMBERS
- Head Coach Kyle Whittingham is set to coach in his 375th overall game at Utah and his 249th as head coach on Saturday.
- Utah is only allowing opponents to score 16.4 points per game this season, which ranks second in the Big 12 and 12th in the FBS.
- Utah is leading the Big 12 and ranks fifth in the FBS in time of possession (34:07).
- Utah and Houston are set to face off for the first time since 1978.
UTAH FOOTBALL: NEED TO KNOWS
- Utah's defense is only allowing opponents to convert on 26.2% of their third down attempts, which ranks first in the Big 12 and fifth in the FBS.
- The Utes are only averaging 4.43 penalties per game (31 total), which is good for 11th in the FBS and fifth in the league.
- Utah leads the Big 12 in first downs defense (98 total, 14.0 per game), also ranking seventh nationally.
- The Utes are averaging 13.31 yards per completion in 2024, ranking fourth in the Big 12.
- The Utes have posted a winning record in 10 straight seasons, dating back to 2014. Utah has also finished with a winning season in 17 of Whittingham's 19 years as head coach.
