GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – The University of Utah's swim team finished their final day of competition in Grand Junction, Colo. taking on Colorado Mesa's TYR Invitational and earning a top three finish and three best times on Saturday night.
Utah's swim team divided and visited Texas A&M's Art Adamson Invitationals and Colorado Mesa's TYR Invitational for their midseason competitions. The Texas group finished their competition Friday night, but the Colorado crew took on one more day of competition against Colorado Mesa, Colorado School of Mines, Wyoming and Northern Arizona.

"Good attitudes overall, everyone was giving their best," said assistant coach
Jordan Taylor. "A little bit of mixed results, but that's kind of how swim meets go, some good some bad."
Final(ly)
- Jonathon Michaels earned a sixth-place finish for the Utes in the 200-yard backstroke, swimming a 1:50.43.
- Sofia Carlson grabbed a 16th place finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a 52.29 finish.
- Colin Parker earned a 12th place finish after his performance in the 100-yard free of 46.24.
- Anelise Hedges crushed the 200-yard breaststroke, placing fourth with a 2:18.61. Hilja Schimmel wasn't far behind with her seventh-place finish of 2:21.26.
- Alex Turney dropped some time to earn a top-three finish and grab the bronze medal in the 200-breast with his 2:00.85. Gannon Flynn touched just after with a 2:01.30.
- Milla Ruthven collected the 11th place finish for Utah in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:07.18.
- The women's 400-yard freestyle relay earned a fifth pace finish, just behind Colorado School of Mines with a 3:36.72 time.
Best Times
- Flynn flew through his 200-breast in the prelims, earning a lifetime best with a time of 2:00.82.
- Lauren Greenwell grabbed her best time in the 200-breast after she touched the wall at 2:23.98 in her finals swim, dropping just shy of five seconds.
- Keeping the 200-breast trend going, Turney earned his season best on his final swim as well.
"Overall, it was a pretty good three and a half days here," said Taylor. "We had a lot of best times and one top ten for Utah."
