The Women of Utah are sending 10 competitors to the Big 12 Championships this Friday, Oct. 31, with
Josie Fale,
Emily Junginger and
Millie Wilcox making their conference championships debut. Friday's race will feature six teams ranked in the USTFCCCA Top-30 with all six teams ranked inside the top-20.
Of the three competing in their first conference championship race, Junginger is a freshman while Fale is a sophomore. Wilcox, albeit a senior, is in her first year running with the cross country team after spending the last three seasons on the sprints side.
LAST TIME OUT AT BIG 12S
In its first season as members of the Big 12 Conference last year, the Women of Utah finished third-overall behind an eighth-place finish from
Erin Vringer (19:56.48).
Annastasia Peters was the next top finisher that returns this season for Utah, finishing 18th-overall at 20:07.02.
Marika Couture and
Lindsey Peters were just outside as scorers for the Women of Utah, crossing the finish line in 45th and 54th respectively.
IN THE RANKINGS
Utah moved down to No. 18 in the latest USTFCCCA Polls ahead of the start of the championships season. The Utes are 1-of-6 teams Big 12 teams ranked in the top-30 while the league is tied with the ACC and Big Ten with six teams ranked in the latest poll. However, the Big 12 is the only conference among those three that has all six of its teams ranked inside the top-20.
NCAA REGIONALS RETURN TO SLC
The NCAA Mountain Regionals, which is considered the toughest region in the country returns to Salt Lake City this year and hosted by the University of Utah at the Regional Athletic Complex. The meet is scheduled to take place on Friday, Nov. 14. The last time Utah hosted the mountain regionals was back in 2019 when it was hosted at Rose Park Golf Course. For more information, visit the

The Women of Utah won't have to go far this time around for the NCAA Mountain Regionals with the Utes playing host for the first time since 2019.
