The Utah Scouting Report
The Utes and head coach
Gary Henderson are preparing for their second season in the Big 12 Conference, welcoming a cast of returners as well as newcomers ready to make an impact. First-team All-Big 12 selection and right-handed pitcher
Colter McAnelly enters his junior year, coming off a campaign where he ranked among the Big 12 regular season leaders in innings pitched (1st), strikeouts (5th) and opponent batting average (7th; .236).
The Utes had two players selected in the 2025 MLB Draft. Left-handed pitcher
Bryson Van Sickle, the 2024 Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year, was also signed to a minor league contract by the Colorado Rockies.
Henderson's program is nearing an exciting milestone with the on-campus opening of Charlie Monfort Field at America First Ballpark. Construction progress continues daily, with turf already installed and allowing the team to practice while construction continues in other areas of the ballpark. The facility is located on Guardsman Way on the southern tip of campus. It will be ready in time for the 2026 season.
