SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah men's basketball team emerged from the clutches of defeat and secured a 92-89 overtime victory against Weber State inside the Jon M. Huntsman Center Saturday night.
Â

Keanu Dawes recorded his first double-double of the season with 11 points (4-of-7 FG) and 14 rebounds for this seventh-career double-double.
Â
Dawes broke the seal 22 seconds into the game, drilling a three to start up the Utah offense and gave the team a 3-0 advantage.Â
Â
A trey from McHenry at the 8:39 mark started up a streak of eight-consecutive field goals for Utah that capped off with a corner three from freshman forward
Kendyl Sanders – which tied the game at 37-37 with 4:15 remaining in the half.Â
Â
Minutes later, Brown knocked down two baskets from the charity stripe to close the frame as Utah trailed 49-42 heading into the break.
Â
Down eight early in the second half, Utah shaved away the Wildcats' (1-1) advantage and got within 55-54 of Weber State on a driving layup from Brown at the 16:09 mark.Â
Â
The Runnin' Utes remained within striking distance through the remainder of the frame, eventually finding themselves down three (84-81) with 12 seconds left in regulation.Â
Â
A missed free throw from Weber State gave Utah a chance to send the game to overtime, which McHenry took full advantage of by draining a corner three to knot the game up at 84-84 – which electrified the Huntsman Center crowd.
Â
Utah stuck first in the extra period with four-consecutive points from Brown to give the Utes an 88-84 lead.Â
Â
