LOS ANGELES – The Utah track & field team had a great start to its outdoor season on Saturday picking up two event victories to go with a broken record in the 100m dash at the Trojan Invitational inside Loker Track Stadium.

Utah's 4x100m relay team of
Megan Rose,
Emily Martin,
Chelsea Amoah and
Rachel Bair just missed out on breaking the school record with a run of 44.72. That mark just missed tying the school record by .01 and .02 from breaking it.

Kylie Hartnett was primed from the get-go for Utah, leading the 1500m race wire-to-wire for the event victory at 4:36.05. Newcomer
Claire Le Gallo just missed a top-3 finish with a new PR time of 4:39.25 for fourth-overall.

Bailey Kealamakia started her day finishing sixth-overall after posting a new PB in the 100m hurdles (14.53). Freshman
Lela Divinity ran a 15.06 in her first collegiate outdoor race followed by Bair posting a new personal best time of 15.33.

Martin crushed her previous school record in the 100m dash when she clocked a PR time of 11.388 for sixth-overall.

Utah nearly swept the podium in the 800m run, taking up three of the top-4 spots led by Annie Ivin's PR run of 2:09.73 – which was good for second-overall. Freshman
Lauren Ayers made her outdoor debut with a third-place run of 2:10.71 while
Grace Moroney took fourth with a new personal best mark of 2:11.31.

Kealamakia then stepped back onto the track for the 400m hurdles and picked up Utah's second event victory with her run of 1:00.57. Divinity was behind her at the finish line, recording a final mark of 1:03.28 for second-overall.

In her first outdoor 200m dash, Amoah just missed out of a third event win for Utah and finished second with a sprint of 23.48.

Over on the long jump pits, Bair was able to secure a new PR when she leapt a distance of 5.65m (18-6.5).
