Women of Utah to Send Select Group to UVU Invitational Friday

The Utah track & field team will send six competitors down south to run at the UVU Invitational Friday, March 28.
SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah track & field team will send a small select group down to Orem this Friday, March 28, to compete at the UVU Invitational. In addition, Rachel Bair will be in San Diego for a multi-only meet hosted by San Diego State.

OFF THE BLOCKS
Of the six competitors that Utah will be sending down to the UVU Invitational, freshman Sona Kourilova will be making her outdoor season debut while Lindsey Peters will be making her season debut.
SPEEDY START
Junior Emily Martin didn't waste any time last week as she broke her own 100m record from last season with a run of 11.39 (11.388) at the Trojan Invitational to open the outdoor season. Meanwhile, Utah's 4x100m relay team consisting of Megan Rose, Martin, Chelsea Amoah and Rachel Bair posted the second-fastest time in program history with a mark of 44.72.
OFF TO THE TEN
Former Utah All-American Emily Venters is headed to San Juan Capistrano, Calif., in the heart of Orange County to compete in The TEN. Fans can watch the event on FloTrack or follow along via live results. Venters will be 1-of-27 professionals running in the 10,000m event.
UP NEXT
The Utes will have their first split squad weekend of competition the following week when the distance crew heads over to The Farm for the Stanford Invitational (April 4-5) while the sprints crew heads to Southern California for the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational (April 5) hosted by UCLA.
