GEORGETOWN, Colo. – The Utah Ski Team began the alpine portion of the 2026 schedule on Monday, racing in slalom events at Loveland Ski Area at part of the Denver Invitational. The day was highlighted for the Utes by a victory in the men's event for

Head alpine coach
JJ Johnson said, "The boys were really on it today. Pierick, Harry and Sindre really executed well. Johs pushed a little harder on the second run. He is flying right now; his GS skiing is so good and he wants to be so much better at slalom. It was nice to see him have the feel he was looking for.
"On the women's side, Melanie did a great job under the circumstances and Maddie has worked very hard--it was nice to see her make her first college start. There was good speed in the group and Kaila was seventh on the first run. We're excited to see everyone get back out there tomorrow and the rest of this week."
