SALT LAKE CITY — Sophomore
Avery Neff earned the Red Rocks' first Big 12 weekly award of 2026 after notching the season's first perfect 10 score on vault at the Sprouts Farmers Market Quad meet over the weekend.
Â
Neff was named Gymnast of the Week after posting the highest all-around score for Utah Gymnastics (39.500) which was just .175 of a point from her career-high competing all four events (39.675) that she set last season for the regional all-around title.
The former No. 1 recruit in the country provided a steady performance for the Utes last Saturday, earning a 9.875 on floor and a 9.85 on bars before 'wowing' the audience with the first 10.0 score of the 2026 collegiate gymnastics season and the first perfect score of her career on vault.
Neff's 10 ended up being the exclamation point on an overall great team effort on vault that resulted in a collective 49.600 score. The Red Rocks' Sprouts vault score was just shy of a program best set in 2004 against BYU of 49.775.
