SALT LAKE CITY— The University of Utah women's tennis team is set to take both Texas Tech (Mar. 19) and Colorado (Mar. 21) in Big 12 conference matches on the road this week.  The Utes are coming off a weekend sweep at home after defeating both West Virginia 4-0 and Cincinnati 4-1.
The Utes are currently 10-5 overall on the season, 3-2 in Big 12 play and ranked no. 42 on the Intercollegiate Tennis Association polls.

SCOUTING THE LADY RAIDERS
The #30 Texas Tech Lady Raiders are coming off a 4-1 loss to the #20 UCF Knights this weekend after clinching the doubles point advantage. The Knights were able to win five of the first six singles sets from the Lady Raiders before clinching the match.
The Lady Raiders have a Top 100 ranked doubles pairing at No. 55 Yekaterina Dmitrichenko and Hailey Murphy. Dmitrichenko and Murphy are coming off a 6-2 win over the UCF Knights and are currently on a three-match win streak.
The Lady Raiders are coached by Adam Herendeen who is at his fourth season at the helm.

SCOUTING THE BUFFALOS
The #51 Colorado Buffalos are coming off a 4-0 loss on the road to the #36 Houston Cougars. Â Colorado holds a 10-6 overall record with a 2-4 Big 12 conference record. Despite the loss, Buffs duo Ema Bubalo and Anya Nelson pick up their 36
th win as a doubles pairing.
The Buffs will take on the BYU Cougars on Mar. 19 before taking on the Utes on Mar. 21.
The Buffs are coached by Anthony Pham who is at his fifth season with Colorado.

LAST TIME OUT
The Utah Utes posted a 4-1 victory over the Cincinnati Bearcats last Saturday afternoon. The Utes are now 10-5 on the season and 3-2 in Big 12 action.
In doubles action, Utah's
Emma Kamper and
Emmie Moore downed Cincinnati's Gabrielle Guenther and Tara Kurepa 6-4 at the No. 2 spot. However, the Bearcats captured victories on courts No. 1 and No. 3 to clinch the doubles point advantage.
The Utes posted strong singles performances to clinch the overall win with four-straight victories. At the No. 1 spot, Utah'sÂ
Emma Kamper defeated Cincinnati's Rozalia Gruszczynska 6-1, 6-1 to secure Utah's first point of the day. Â
Emma Valletta downed Bearcats' Tara Kurepa 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 5 spot. Then, Â
Emmie Moore captured a 6-1, 7-5 victory against UC's Sakurako Watanabe on court No. 3
Utah's
Sara Akid clinched the overall match on court No. 2 with a 7-5, 6-4 victory over UC's Gabrielle Guenther.
The Utes are currently 8-0 at home and 2-4 on the road.
HEAD COACH RUTH ANN ALLEN
The Utah women's tennis team welcomedÂ
Ruth Ann Allen as head coach this past season. A Utah native and a Utah All-American and Hall of Famer, Allen returns to lead the program after a successful tenure as head coach at Weber State. She guided the Wildcats to a Big Sky Championship in 2023 and was twice named Big Sky Coach of the Year (2022, 2023).
Before Weber State, Allen spent 20 seasons as an assistant coach at Utah, where she helped the Utes secure multiple NCAA Tournament bids, two Mountain West Conference titles, and numerous top-five regional rankings. Allen, an All-American during her playing career at Utah, was inducted into the Utah Tennis Association Hall of Fame in 2023.
NEXT UP
The Utes will return home with a match against the Oklahoma State Cowgirls (Mar. 26) and Kansas State (Mar. 28) before hitting a road trip to the Lonestar State to face the TCU Horned Frogs and Baylor Bears in the beginning of April.
