2024 – Senior
- Came closer to home for his final collegiate season, making 16 appearances (eight starts) with the Utes.
- Finished with a 1-1 record in 47.2 innings pitched, striking out 30 batters.
- Delivered a solid start in his Utah debut, allowing just one run on four hits in a win at Pepperdine (Feb. 17).
- Took a no-hitter into the seventh inning against CSU Bakersfield (Feb. 26) and struck out four in eight innings of work, but received a no-decision.
- Pitched three innings of two-hit, shutout ball in the win over Utah Valley (April 16).
- Tossed another three innings with two strikeouts and no walks during the rubber game vs. Washington (April 21).
Prior to Utah
- Spent the 2021-23 seasons in St. George at Utah Tech, where he made 49 career appearances (36 starts).
- Ranked eighth in NCAA-era program history in walks allowed per nine innings (2.62).
- Had a 15-9 record with the Trailblazers in 202.2 innings pitched, striking out 142 batters.
- Threw a complete game during the 2021 season.
Prior to College
- All-Conference and All-State selection played scholastically at Tooele High School under head coach Nolan Stouder.
- Led his region in strikeouts as a junior while also hitting .370.
Personal
- Son of Eric and Kathleen Porthan.
- Brother, Shawn, was an outfielder at CSU San Bernardino.
- Enjoys snowboarding, fishing and cooking.
