Leslie Weeks, who has five years of coaching experience at the college, Olympic Development and club levels, is in her second season as an assistant coach at Utah. Weeks will serve as the Utes[apos] primary goalkeepers coach. Before joining the Ute staff, Weeks spent two years at Portland State, where she worked extensively with the keepers. In 2003, she developed sophomore Niki Brooks into a starter for the final four games of the season. Brooks posted a pair of shutouts and had a 0.95 goals against average. A year later, Brooks recorded the most shutouts in Big Sky Conference play and had the best goals against average in the league. The Vikings won the 2004 Big Sky Conference regular season championship. In her first season at Utah in 2005, the Utes ranked 24th in the nation in goals against average (.707). Individually, goalkeeper Ashley Mason was 28th in goals against average (.723). In 2003, Weeks began working with the Oregon Youth Soccer Association[apos]s Olympic Development Program. Weeks gained more ODP experience in 2004 when she worked at the Region IV Camp. She has also coached high-level club soccer in California and Oregon. Weeks played four years at the University of Washington and was on the 2000 Pac-10 championship team that climbed to No. 2 in the national polls. Along with U.S. National Team member Hope Solo, Weeks helped form the NCAA[apos]s best goalkeeping tandem from 1999-2000. Prior to college, Weeks was one of the premier prep goalkeepers in the nation, earning Soccer America all-region honors in 1997. She was a member of the U.S. National Team Pool for U-15 in 1994 and U-16 in 1995. In addition, she was a three-time regional team member from 1994-96.
