SALT LAKE CITY - Utah defeated Mountain West Conference opponent Wyoming in three games, 15-12, 15-7, 15-12. Utah improves to 15-5 overall, 5-1 in the MWC. Wyoming falls to 8-12 overall, 2-4 in conference play.
Middle blocker McKelle Stilson led the Utes with 16 kills for a .481 hitting percentage and four total blocks. Sophomore transfer Alisa Geddes posted 12 kills and eight digs, respectively. Brooke Barton led the team with 11 digs, while Adrianne Bradley added 10 digs. Freshman Brenda Beal posted four kills for a .667 hitting percentage. Senior setter Graciela Torres-Lopez totaled 35 assists. As a team, the Utes hit .263 in the match.
"This was a really good win for us and I felt we were in control of the match the whole time. We are starting to come together as a team and I'm pleased with that. It's never an easy win on the road and we played very well tonight," said Launiere.
Wyoming was led by Jamie Burke who had 16 kills for a .313 hitting percentage, seven digs and three total blocks. Rachel Lau totaled 10 kills for a .474 hitting percentage, while teammate Brooke Lowry posted 30 assists and 11 digs. Wyoming hit .174 as a team.
