SALT LAKE CITY - Utah got its fifth straight win by defeating UNLV in three games, 15-10, 15-6, 15-11 in MWC play tonight at home on Crimson Court. Utah improves to 13-4 overall, 4-0 in the MWC. UNLV drops to 8-6 overall, 0-3 in conference play.
Utah sophomore McKelle Stilson led the Utes with 11 kills and eight digs. Sophomore transfer Alisa Geddes posted 10 kills, while teammate Lucie Turkov added 12 digs. Senior setter Graciela Torres-Lopez totaled 38 assists and four total blocks. As a team, the Utes hit .190 in the match.
"I really challenged my team to do a lot of mental preparation for this match. Instead of telling the team to get prepared, I helped them get prepared and we did a lot of visualization for this match. Tonight's match has been our most consistent one so far and that is what we've been looking for," said Launiere.
UNLV was led by Danielle Gerlach. Gerlach posted 11 kills for a .258 hitting percentage, eight digs and four total blocks. Amber Graham totaled 9 kills and six total blocks, while teammate Angie Sylvas added eight digs. The Rebels hit .109 as a team.

Oct. 15, Utah will take on in-state rival, 10th ranked BYU at home at 7:00 p.m. Utah ends its four-match homestand on Oct. 20, when they take on Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. On Oct. 22, the Utes travel to Laramie, Wyo. to take on the Cowgirls of Wyoming at 7:00 p.m. Utah hits the road once again on Sat., Oct. 23, when they take on Colorado State at 7:00 p.m.
