LAS VEGAS - Utah continues on its three match win streak as they roll past UNLV, 3-1 (13-15, 15-8, 15-8, 15-4), Thurs., Nov. 4 in Las Vegas, N.V. Utah improves to 18-6 overall, 8-2 in the MWC. UNLV falls to 9-11 overall, 1-8 in conference play.
Sophomore transfer Alisa Geddes posted 18 kills for a .324 hitting percentage and led the team with 12 digs. Middle blocker McKelle Stilson posted 12 kills for a .346 hitting percentage. Senior setter Graciela Torres-Lopez totaled 46 assists. As a team, the Utes hit .289 in the match.
"I was pleased with our effort after we turned it around in the second game, we started out a little bit slow in the first game. Jen Snow-Richards came into game two and did a really nice job for us and Alisa Geddes had a great match tonight. It seems like there are always different people that are coming up with really big matches. I think we"re playing now with confidence and that"s a sign of a good team when you can display that," said Launiere.
UNLV was led by Jeanette Graves who had 13 kills for a .214 hitting percentage and 10 digs. Teammate Angie Sylvas also added 13 kills, while Danielle Gerlach posted 11 kills and 11 digs. Justine Kamelamela posted 40 assists and led the Rebels with 13 digs. UNLV hit .117 in the match.

Utah travels to San Diego, Calif. Sat., Nov. 6 to take on the Aztecs of San Diego State at 1:00 p.m. (PST). On Fri., Nov. 12, the Utes take on the Cougars of BYU in Provo, Utah at 7:00 p.m. Utah is back in action at home on Fri., Nov. 19 when they take on Colorado State at 7:00 p.m. On Sat., Nov. 20, the Utes play Wyoming at 7:00 p.m. at Crimson Court.
