PROVO, Utah (AP) - Andre Miller had 19 points and nine rebounds as No. 20 Utah won its 13th straight game by routing archrival Brigham Young 71-46 Saturday night.
The Utes (18-4, 8-0 Western Athletic Conference) haven't lost since Dec. 12 and have won their first eight WAC games by an average of 17.9 points. Utah has beaten the Cougars nine straight times and leads the WAC Pacific Division by two games over Fresno State with six to play.
Alex Jensen and Hanno Mottola were in foul trouble much of the night, but Utah made a 21-6 run early in the second half that put the game out of reach. The rally featured seven points and two assists from Miller and demoralized a BYU team playing on emotion from a raucous crowd.
In a game that ended shortly before midnight MST because of national television coverage, the Utes shut down the Cougars with another defensive clinic. BYU (8-12, 3-5) had just one field goal in the final 12:47 of the first half and only one layup during a seven-minute stretch of the second half.
