SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Andre Miller and Hanno Mottola scored 20 points apiece as Utah shot 70 percent from the field and routed San Jose State 70-54 on Saturday night.
The Runnin' Utes (14-4, 4-0 Western Athletic Conference) won their ninth straight game and extended their homecourt winning streak to 30 games, the fourth-longest in the nation. Utah played an amazingly efficient game on offense, going 28-for-40 from the field.
The Spartans (9-9, 2-3 WAC) gave a better effort than in their 75-44 loss to BYU on Thursday night, but 13 turnovers and Utah's deadeye shooting doomed them. Guard Terrance Richmond led all scorers with 22 points, but the rest of his team shot just 12-for-26.
Miller played another stellar game, going 9-for-9 from the field, handing out five assists and passing Jerry Chambers for 15th place on the school's career scoring list. He also keyed a 16-5 second-half run that broke open a 28-28 halftime tie with four points, two assists and a steal.
The Utes haven't lost since falling out of the Top 25 in early December. Utah has won all nine of its home games this season by an average of 23.6 points.
Forward Tony Harvey added 13 points off the bench for Utah, while Mottola had a game-high eight rebounds. The Utes next host Fresno State on Monday night.
