SALT LAKE CITY-The Utah women's soccer team is 2-0 in season play following a 2-0 victory over Utah State. Ute freshman Alli Cerruti scored the Utes first goal in the last ten minutes of the first half. Cerruti's goal was shot tight in the box from an assist by Staci Burt. Burt turned in another assist at the 75:48 mark when she crossed a ball to freshman Lesa Zollinger. Overall, the Utes took 25 shots, eight on goal. Starting goalkeeper Tawni Martineau tallies her second win of the season and her first shutout. She contributed eight saves.
The Utes travel to Ogden, Utah, to play Weber State Tues., Sept. 8 at 4:30 p.m.
