The Utah women's soccer team went 1-1 last weekend in Arizona. The Utes defeated Northern Arizona 4-0 and fell to Arizona State 2-1.
Against Northern Arizona, the Utes out shot NAU 24-5 including 19 shots on goal. Staci Burt scored twice for the Utes and midfielders Annie Murphy and Tonya Dansereau each scored one. Tara McNeil and Jessica Narajowski each put in two assists, Dansereau and Karen Boardman each assisted once.
Against Arizona State, the Utes led the game 1-0 when Burt took a ball punted by goalkeeper Tawni Martineau and struck a 25 yard shot. ASU came from behind scoring two surprise shots in the last five minutes of the game.
Utah returns home this week to host Brigham Young Thurs., Oct. 8 at 4:00 p.m. The game will be tape delayed on KJZZ at 11:00 p.m.
