MISSOULA, Mont. -- The University of Utah women's soccer team suffered its second consecutive overtime loss in two regular season games, dropping a 2-1 game against Montana at UM South Campus Stadium.
Sophomore Katie Tate headed in a cross from sophomore Kim Naylor in the 24th minute to give Utah an early lead. The goal held up through half, before Montana tied the contest in the 75th minute. The Grizzlies scored the game-winning goal nine minutes into the extra stanza off a corner kick.
The Utes out shot UM 17-13, but could only account for the one goal.
Utah is looking forward to the comfort of Ute Field, as the Utes home-opener is Sat., Sept. 2 at 1 p.m. against Washington State.
