Stockton, Calif. - The No. 18th ranked University of Utah Utes have been added to the Bankers Classic tournament field to take the place of University of Southern California Trojans according to announcement by the Pacific Tigers women's volleyball program on Tues., Oct. 9.
The Trojans were originally scheduled to play in the Bankers Classic, but pulled out due to scheduling conflicts with Pacific-10 matches that were rescheduled after the tragedy that occurred on September 11.
Utah will take on former WAC rival No. 13 Hawaii in the first round of the Bankers Classic on November 23 at 5 p.m. Pacific will play Fairfield in the second match of the night at 7 p.m. On Saturday, November 24 the two losing teams will play in the consolation match at 5 p.m. and the championship match will take place at 7 p.m.
It will be Utah's first appearance in the 23rd annual Bankers Classic, along with Fairfield who is also making its first appearance. Hawaii is a three-time winner of the tournament and will be making its sixth appearance. Pacific has won four straight Bankers Classic Championships and will look to win a record setting fifth title in a row.

Fri., Nov. 23, 2001 Hawaii vs. Utah 5:00 p.m. Fairfield at Pacific 7:00 p.m. Sat., Nov. 24, 2001 Consolation Match 5:00 p.m. Championship Match 7:00 p.m.
