SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah women's soccer team has addressed its needs for the upcoming 2001 season by signing three impact players.
Utah received National Letters of Intent from Lauren Field, Julie Herdic, and Erin Pruitt. The trio fits into Utah's aggressive, physical style.
Field is a forward from Southwest Guilford High School in High Point, NC. She played for the Greensboro Twisters club team.
"She is an incredible athlete who is strong physically and has great speed," said Ute Head Coach Amy Winslow. "She is probably one of the best this program has seen."
Herdic will don the crimson and white coming from McIntosh High School in Peach City, Ga. She is also a forward. She was a member of the Atlanta Tophatters club team.
"She is a tough player with the ball at her feet, but her best attribute is her innate ability to score goals," said Winslow.
Erin Pruitt is a midfielder from Walnut High School in San Dimas, Calif. The Mission Viejo Magic club member brings a dominating presence.
"Erin will add an ability to dominate in the air to our midfield. She will also give us a physical presence in the midfield that we have lacked since Jessica Narajowski and Tara McNeil graduated," said Winslow.
