Ute teammates Shelly Hundley, Kelsie Kartchner, Jackie Morrill, Kim Turner and former Ute Jen Snow-Richards will be competing on the USA/IVA High Performance Team coached by Ute assistant coach Matt McShane. Two teams, one junior (21 and under) and one youth (17 and under) high performance teams from the Intermountain Region of USAV have made the trip to Europe. They are high level teams of kids in the USAV pipeline that are fortunate enough to be in a top training program that has been able to get them overseas once every two years to play and train at the highest possible levels.
Members of the Junior team are: Kelsie Kartchner, Lindsay Phillips, Kim Turner, Kami Olsen, Lauren Richards, Colleen Huey, Shelly Hundley, Kylie Gilmore, Jackie Morrill, Heather Gilmore, Jen Snow-Richards and Matt McShane (Head Coach).
"The opportunity for these players to compete against the level of competition they are playing in Europe is great for them, both in terms of volleyball and personally," says Head Coach Beth Launiere. "It is a positive for our program, having some of our players training for two weeks and playing against high-level competition. The University of Utah has been very involved in the development of this program. These are the fruits of our labors from over the past six years."
