THIS WEEK: The University of Utah women's soccer team is geared up to start the season this week with tough matches at Florida and South Florida. The Utes, who finished the 2000 campaign with a 13-7-1 overall record and tied for second in the Mountain West Conference (4-2), are hoping to kick off the 2001 season with a quick bang.
The team will travel to Gainesville, Fla. to match up against the No. 18-ranked Florida Gators on Sept. 31 at 7:00 p.m EDT. They will continue their road trip to face South Florida on Sept. 2 at 1:00 p.m EDT.
NEXT WEEK: The Utes will have their first home stand against Arizona State on Sept. 7. They will then host No.24-ranked Marquette on Sept. 13 and Montana on Sept. 16.
UTE NOTES: Senior Amy Kofoed is four goals away from tying Utah's career goal mark of 38 goals set by former Ute Staci Burt (currently playing for WUSA's Carolina Courage).
