Women's Soccer Notes

THIS WEEK: After last week's games were cancelled in light of national tragedy, the University of Utah women's soccer team will be back in action this week. The Utes will endure a tough road trip as they look to improve their 2-1 record. On Sept. 17, Utah will take to the field against No. 15-ranked Kentucky. The Wildcats earned a 5-0 record heading into this week's action.
The team will finish thier road trip Sept. 23 against Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Miami currently sits at 2-3 on the season.
Preview: The Utes will return home to host three-consecutive home games. On Sept. 27, Boston University will test Utah at Ute Field, while Arizona will try to invade the turf on Sept. 30. Utah will play in-state rival Weber State at home on Oct. 5. Conference play begins Oct. 11.
Reviewing Last Week: Last week's scheduled match-ups against Marquette and Montana were cancelled due to the national tragedy. Utah's last game was against Arizona State on Sept. 7, in which they squeaked out a 1-0 win in their home opener. Katie Tate scored the game winning goal for the Utes. Amy Kofoed was credited an assist on Tate's second goal of the season. Utah goalkeeper, Courtney Hills pitched a shutout to give the Utes the win.
Ute Notes: Amy Kofoed, who has been held scoreless in Utah's first three games of the season, is still just four goals away from tying Staci Burt's all-time record for goals. Kofoed leads the team in assists thus far in the season. Bobbie Benegas and Katie Tate lead the Utes statistically with two goals each.
