The Utah indoor track & field teams will head to Logan, Utah, for two separate meets on Sat. Jan. 26. The Utes will compete in the Wilson Motor Invitational and against Long Beach State.
Last Week
At the Snake River Open in Pocatello, Idaho, Utah's Brooke LoBue set the Utah school pole vault record by placing second (13'05.50). LoBue's performance automatically qualifies her for nationals. April Jackson placed second(8.39) in the 55-meter hurdles and third (5'07) in the high jump.
Quoting Head Coach Lisa Collet
"We are really excited about opening the 2002 season. This will begin a new era of coaching and direction for the Utah track & field program. It will mark the first year Utah has recruited and competed in pole vaulting. So far our athletes have done very well in the pole vault."
Coming Up
The Utes will travel to Pocatello, Idaho to compete in the Mountain State Games from February first through the second.
