COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - For the third time this year, Utah middle blocker Kim Turner has been named Mountain West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, marking her seventh overall award.
A 6-2 junior from Chandler, Ariz., Turner led the Utes to a sweep of San Diego State and UNLV last week as Utah extended its home match win streak to 28.
In a three-game win over SDSU, Turner totaled 10 kills, six digs, three blocks and an ace. The following night, she posted 13 kills, 10 blocks, two aces and a .550 hitting percentage in the victory over UNLV. It marked her seventh double-double of the season.
For the week, Turner averaged 3.83 kills per game, 1.33 digs per game, 2.17 blocks per game and .50 aces per game, while hitting .413.
