SALT LAKE CITY - For the second time this year, outside hitter/middle blocker Kim Turner was named Mountain West Conference Volleyball Player of the Week, marking her sixth overall award. A 6-2 junior from Chandler, Ariz., Turner helped the Utes to a 2-0 mark last week.
In a four-game win over New Mexico, she tied a career-high with 22 kills en route to a .450 hitting percentage. She also totaled eight digs and five blocks vs. the Lobos.
In a three-game sweep over Air Force, Turner recorded a season-high .588 hitting percentage, totaling 11 kills with just one error in 17 attacks. She also added five digs and four blocks.
For the week, Turner totaled 33 kills (4.71 kpg), 13 digs (1.86 dpg) and nine blocks (1.29 bpg), while hitting .491 (33-5-57).
