Upcoming Event: Track & Field versus NCAA First Round on May 28, 2026

THIS WEEK:
The University of Utah outdoor track & field team will open its 2002 season in Palo Alto, Calif. at the Stanford Invitational Distance Carnival on Sat., Mar. 30th. High school, college and professional athletes from around the country will compete at Stanford's Cobb Track and Angell Field.
LAST MEET:
The University of Utah indoor track & field teams finished the last day of competition of the 2002 Mountain West Conference Championships on Sat. Feb. 23rd. The men's team finished at sixth place in the MWC and the women finished fifth. Top finishes for Utah were Nephi Tyler's second place finish (4:19.72) in the one mile run, and April Jackson's third place finished (8.63) in the 60-meter hurdles and second place finish (1.72m) in the high jump.
The UTES
With the cross country and indoor track & field teams having strong seasons with new head coaches, the outdoor team will look to continue the success. Cross country and track & field improved on last years performance in the Mountain West Conference. Cross country head coach Brian Appell led the men's team to a third place finish and the women to a fourth place finish in the conference. In her first year as head coach, Lisa Collet led the women's indoor track & field to fifth place in the MWC and the men to a sixth place finish.
AFTER THIS
The University of Utah outdoor track & field team will travel to Provo, Utah for the the BYU Invitational on Apr. 6 and will attend two separate meets on Apr. 13. The men's team will travel to Ogden, Utah to compete in the Weber State Invitational and the women's team will head to San Diego, Calif. to compete in the San Diego State Invitational.
