Utah Volleyball Receives Preseason Ranking

SALT LAKE CITY--The Utah volleyball team received preseason accolades in the recent Volleyball Magazine Poll, which ranked the Utes 11th overall. "The ranking is a reflection of what this program has done over the past couple years," said head coach Beth Launiere. "We have proven that we are ready to compete and we are always striving to raise our national ranking by continuing to win."
The No. 11 Utes will face five teams ranked in the preseason top 20, including defending champion and No. 1 ranked Stanford. Last year, the Cardinal defeated the Utes in the Sweet 16. Also on the platter for Utah is No. 2 Hawaii, No. 8 Arizona, No. 9 Pacific and No. 18 Illinois. Pacific is first up for the Utes, as they host the Tigers opening weekend (Aug. 30-31) at the Utah Classic.
