Utah sophomore forward Julie Herdic was named the Mountain West Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week after collecting the first MWC hat trick of the season. Herdic's hat trick was the first of her career resulting in a 4-1 win for the Utes over Idaho State.
The Peachtree, Ga., native's first goal was unassisted and the second was assisted by teammate freshman Katie Battazzo to give the Utes a 2-0 lead. She concluded her scoring attack with a break away goal with the assist being credited to Shauna Gurr-Bingham. On the season, Herdic leads Utah and is second in the MWC in points (9) and goals (4).
