BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU's Jaime Lloreda and Brandon Bass combined for 31 points as the Fighting Tigers defeated Utah 65-51 Tuesday night.
LSU (5-0), playing its first game after a 17 days off because of final exams, allowed Utah (6-3) to shoot just 34.8 percent from the floor and held a 42-30 rebounding advantage.
Lloreda, who missed periods of the second half due to a finger injury and foul trouble, led LSU in scoring for the fourth time this season with 16 points. Bass added 15.
Darrel Mitchell came off of the LSU bench and posted his fourth consecutive double-figure game with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor.
Lloreda, Bass and Regis Koundjia each had eight rebounds, helping LSU dominate the offensive glass by a 17-7 margin.
Andrew Bogut led Utah with 11 points and 11 rebounds, while Justin Hawkins and Tim Frost had 10 points each, but the Utes were held to under 60 points for the sixth time this year.
