Indoor Track and Field Finishes Wilson Motor Invitational

LOGAN, Utah - The Utah indoor track and field teams finished competition for the Wilson Motor Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 1. Utah athletes continued their success with another impressive performance wining six events. The meet featured Utah, Southern Utah, Utah State and Long Beach State.
Leading the way for Utah, were Brooke LoBue, Katie Decker, Vanessa Mortensen, Nellie Hammons, and Kristy Slade, who all notched first-place finishes in their respected events. LoBue won the pole vault with a height of 11' 10.00". Decker, a junior, grabbed the high jump with 5' 06.50". The freshman Mortensen won the weight throw with a distance 54' 5.50". Sophomore Hammons took the 400m with time of 57.60 and Slade, a senior, took the 60m-hurdles (8.86).
The women's 4x400m relay team finished first in their event posting a 3:55.42 time. On the men's side, freshman Derek Sensenstein led the way finishing second in the 800m run (1:58.87).
