SALT LAKE CITY - University of Utah Head Coach Rich Manning and Assistant Coach Gabriel Bolton, co-directors of the Utah Women's Soccer Academy, today released the 2003 summer camp schedule.
There will be a total of five separate camps held throughout the months of June, July and August this year. Similar to last year there will be a Girls' Residential/Commuter Academy for girls ages 14-18 (July 7-11) There will also be day camps (Coed Day Academy) held June 16-20, June 23-27, and July 28-Aug. 1 for boys and girls ages 6-13.
New for 2003 will be a Girls' Residential/Commuter Academy for younger girls ages 10-13 (July 14-18) and two residential/commuter goalkeeper camps for girls (Goalkeeper Academy). The first Goalkeeper Academy will be July 7-11 for girls ages 14-18, and the second will be July 14-18 girls ages 10-13.
"Due to the popularity of last year's camps we decided to expand our Academy to include one more Coed Day Academy and a Residential/Commuter Academy for younger girls," said Manning. "These camps are truly a highlight of our year because we get the chance to work with outstanding youth players from Utah and around the country."
Each Academy is conducted by the University of Utah coaching staff, current and former Ute players, as well as other collegiate, club, and high school coaches.
Those that attend a residential academy will once again be staying in the residence halls used as the Olympic Village during the 2002 Winter Olympics.
