SALT LAKE CITY - Head Coach Beth Launiere will introduce the 2003 Utah volleyball team, picked to win the Mountain West Conference, at 7 p.m. this Friday, Aug. 22, at Crimson Court, during Meet the Team Night. Admission is free.
The team will go through drills while Launiere talks to the crowd about the Utes' offensive and defensive systems, set calls, serving zones and much more. The team will also play three games in preparation for their opening match on Aug. 28 at the Arizona State Tournament.
The '03 Utes feature 2002 MWC Player of the Year and All-American candidate Kim Turner, senior libero Jackie Morrill, preseason all-conference setter Kelsie Kartchner and USA National Team pipeline player Lyndsey Henderson.
The 2003 Utes open their home schedule with the Hampton Inn Utah Classic Friday and Saturday, Sept. 5-6. Utah faces No. 19 Washington State at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 5. On Saturday, Sept. 6, the Utes will play in-state opponent Utah Valley State at noon, followed by a 7 p.m. match against No. 21 Missouri.
