SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Junior setter Kelsie Kartchner and sophomore outside hitter Danielle Leichliter have both been named to the Notre Dame Shamrock Invitational all-tournament team following career performances over the weekend.
Kartchner averaged 12.14 assists, 2.14 digs, 2.00 kills, 0.57 blocks and 0.43 service aces on the tournament. She also posted a team-high .545 hitting percentage over the two matches.
In the match against South Carolina, Kartchner split time setting and still managed 25 assists and three service aces in two games. She also hit for a match-high .600.
In the thrilling five-game match against No. 15 Notre Dame, Kartchner posted a triple double -- 60 assists, 13 digs and 11 kills -- to lead Utah. All three were career-highs for the junior.
On the week, Kartchner posted averages above her season averages in every category but service aces, for which she was just 0.03 below.
Leichliter averaged 3.43 kills, 0.71 digs, 0.57 blocks and 0.29 service aces at the tournament. Like Kartchner, all but service aces were above her season averages.
Against Notre Dame, Leichliter finished with a career-high 19 kills with just two errors in 36 attempts (.472 hitting percentage). She also added a career-high four blocks, four digs and a service ace.
