SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah is selling women's soccer tickets for the first time in 2004. Paul Burke of the Utah Youth Soccer Association became the first person to pick up his season tickets on Aug. 10 when they were presented to him by Ute head coach Rich Manning. The revenue generated will help fund Ute the program, which has blossomed in two seasons under Manning. The Utes have made a pair of NCAA Tournament appearances and won the MWC championship in 2003. Season tickets for Utah's 10-game home schedule are available for $25 for adults (18 years and up) and $10 for junior high/high school students. Season ticket holders will receive the benefits of a reserved seat for the Utah vs. BYU game and weekly email updates on the team. Children under 12 and University of Utah students will be admitted free. Single-game tickets can be purchased for $5 for adults and $2 for junior high/high school students. University of Utah faculty and staff will receive a 20% discount. Tickets are available by calling the Utah athletics ticket office at (801) 581-UTIX or by logging on to www.UtahTickets.com. "We're very excited about our team this year and the improvements that are being made to our facility," said Manning. "We think the soccer fans that come out to Ute Field will see very entertaining soccer and will have a great experience." "We're very appreciative of the support given to us by Paul Burke and the other members of the Utah Youth Soccer Association," Manning continued. "Nine players on this year's team were developed by clubs that are a part of the Utah Youth Soccer Association, and our relationship with that group has been instrumental to the growth of our program." Utah opens its 2004 home schedule against Gonzaga on Sunday, Aug. 29 at 1:00 p.m. The Utes also host their first annual Utah Fall Classic, Sept. 3-5 at Ute Field.
