Last Week
Utah split its first two games of the season last weekend, losing 3-0 at Stanford on Friday night and defeating Gonzaga 2-1 in the home opener on Sunday.
Stanford scored in the first minute, got its second goal 30:20 in, and added a third 13 seconds before halftime. Stanford outshot the Utes 5-1 in the first half. Freshman Chelsea Card scored in the 80th minute to lift Utah past Gonzaga 2-1 at Ute Field. Utah dominated the game, outshooting the Bulldogs 20-6 and running up a 13-1 advantage in corner kicks. Rich's Remarks
On the Utah Fall Classic - "We are anticipating good soccer and a great environment for our Utah Fall Classic this weekend. We got a good look at our team this past weekend and we hope to have some spirited practices and improve our team."
"USF is a tough team. They are hard, well-organized and have some dangerous attacking players. Annika Schmidt is a terrific attacker who can break defenders down with her dribbling skills. Coming from the WCC, they will pose a great challenge."
"We played Oregon to a 1-1 tie two years ago. They have improved their talent level and had some good results in the Pac-10 last season. We expect a tight game."
