Rich's Remarks
On the week ahead: "We are anticipating a weekend of great soccer and great challenges. UCLA and USD are two of the premier programs in the West. They come from two of the best soccer conferences in the country in the Pac-10 and WCC. Between them, they have 14 NCAA Tournament appearances. We will face two excellent opponents in two of the best soccer environments in the country. It will serve as great preparation for us as we begin Mountain West Conference play next week."
On facing UCLA: "Over the past five years, UCLA has been one of the top handful of programs in the country. Their roster is loaded with youth national team players. They have two of the best players in the country in midfielder Jill Oakes and forward Iris Mora. Mora is just returning from the Olympics with the Mexican national team and she will be a challenge for our defense. They also have some terrific speed up top. It will be a terrific game to play in."
On facing San Diego: "USD is tough, physical and very well coached. They have a talented group of defenders, led by Kaitlyn Pruett. And they have a bright young star in freshman forward Amy Epsten. It will also be fun to play in the stadium there as it was the home field for the San Diego Spirit of the WUSA."
