SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah women's soccer team will compete in three tournaments and play two additional games during the 2005 spring season.
The Utes open their spring schedule at the BYU Indoor Tournament on Saturday, Feb. 26. The Utes will play three games in BYU's indoor facility, facing UVSC at 3:30 p.m., Utah State at 6:30 p.m. and Dixie State College at 8:30 p.m.
Utah also plays in the UNLV Invitational on Saturday, March 5 with games against UNLV, BYU and UC Riverside. The Utes return to Provo, Utah, on Saturday, April 9 for the BYU Outdoor Invitational. Utah closes out its spring season with games at Arizona on Saturday, April 16 and Arizona State on Sunday, April 17.
"Spring is about development and getting out of your comfort zone," said Manning. "We want to face as many tough teams as possible and challenge our players to get better. It'll be great to face good in-state competition as well as getting down south to face playoff teams such as UNLV and the Arizona schools."
Utah went 13-6-3 in 2004, won the Mountain West Conference Tournament and advanced to its third consecutive NCAA Tournament. The Utes will lose five seniors from that team for next season.
