SALT LAKE CITY - Utah freshman forward Adele Letro has been named to the Soccer America Women's Team of the Week.
The Davis, Calif., native scored two goals to lift the Utes over Purdue and Denver last weekend. She scored the first goal in Utah's 2-1 victory over the Boilermakers on Friday night. She then scored the game-winner against Denver as she volleyed home a cross in the 79th minute to give Utah the 1-0 win.
Letro was also named the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday. She has scored a goal in each of Utah's last three games and leads the team in scoring with eight points.
Utah, ranked No. 25 in the NSCAA/adidas poll this week, is off to the best start in school history with a 6-0 record. Utah plays at No. 22 Arizona on Friday at 7:30 p.m. (MST).
