Utah Update
The Utes are 13-4-0 overall and have clinched the Mountain West Conference regular-season title with a 6-0-0 record. They have won nine in a row with the last eight wins coming via shutout. Utah's current winning streak is the longest in school history, toping a run of six wins set during the 2003 season. Utah won both of its games last week, defeating TCU, 4-0, on Friday night at home and San Diego State, 2-0, on the road on Sunday afternoon.
Adele Letro (F, 5-8, So.) leads the Utes in points (23) with a team-high 10 goals and three assists. Amanda Feigt (F, 5-11, Sr.) is second in points (16) with a team-best six assists and five goals. Hailey Marsh (F, 5-8, Sr.) is third in points (8) with three goals and two assists. Goalkeeper Ashley Mason (5-9, Sr.) has a 0.83 goals against average with 55 saves and 13 goals allowed. She also has 5.3 shutouts.
Utah has more shots (224-158) and more goals (29-13) than its opponents this season, but has a deficit of 63-57 in corner kicks. The Utes have a 0.76 goals against average while their opponents have a 1.69 mark.
In The Rankings
? The Utes held steady at No. 11 in the NSCAA/adidas Top 25 poll this week. This is the highest ranking Utah has ever had in the NSCAA poll. Utah is ranked for the fifth consecutive week and the seventh time in the last eight weeks. The Utes remained fourth in the NSCAA West Region rankings.
? Utah moved up two spots to No. 11 in the Soccer America poll. The Utes are in the poll for the fourth consecutive week.
? The Utes held steady at No. 15 in the Soccer Buzz Top 30 poll, and are ranked for the third-consecutive week. Utah is ranked fourth in the West Region rankings. ? Utah moved up three spots to No. 15 is in the Soccer Times Top 25 rankings, and is in the poll for the third consecutive week.
Scouting Wyoming
The Cowgirls are 7-7-3 overall and tied for third place in the Mountain West Conference with a 2-2-2 record. Emily Layton (M, 5-6, Fr.) leads UW in points (9) with a team-best three goals and three assists. Comfort Adetoye (M/F, 5-8, So) and Christine Nagel (F/M, 5-6, Sr.) are tied for second in points (7), both accounting for two goals and three assists. Ashley Sheppard (GK, 5-10, Jr.) has played the majority of the minutes in goal for Wyoming. She has a 0.99 goals against average, allowing 11 goals and making 68 saves in 11 games. Head coach Anne Moore is 54-79-121 in eight years with the Cowgirls and has a 61-108-159 career record in 10 seasons.
The Series With The Cowgirls
The Utes have never lost to the Cowgirls, leading the series 13-0-0 overall and 5-0-0 in games played in Salt Lake City. Last season, Utah defeated Wyoming 2-0 on Oct. 13 in Salt Lake City.
Coming Up
Utah hosts the Mountain West Conference Tournament, Nov. 1-4 at Ute Field. The top six teams in the conference earn berths into the field with the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds getting byes in the quarterfinals. Two quarterfinal games take place on Wednesday (4:30/7:00 p.m.), followed by two semifinal games on Thursday (4:30/7:00 p.m.). The championship game is Saturday at Noon.
